Many a business with great revenues has been destroyed by imprudent spending. Usually spending too much and sometimes failing to invest in back into the business.
As you write your 2020 business plan, what expenses can you expect for 2020? Consistent or fixed expenses, variable expenses, costs of sales, and capitol expenses (reinvestment) all can be planned for, budgeted for, and spent with wisdom and business savvy.
Plan your expenses for 2020 and maintain the profit you require to live out your vision.
Whatever your business and whatever size your business plan, your first and most important question to answer is "Do I have enough leads?"
Who is going to hire you? Who is going to buy your widgets? And how will you find them?
The two primary ways to get leads are to seek them out (prospecting) and to attract them to you (marketing). The leads part of the plan is to create an executable strategy to find those leads for your business.
Abundance in your business may start with vision and require profit, but it lives and dies with leads.
Vision is the purpose of your business. Profit is a necessary condition of your healthy, abundant business. Each business and each person within a business has a required profit amount to achieve the purpose and calling of their life.
What is the required profit for your business?
Once you know that, use your projected profit margin to reverse engineer your business to determine your revenue target and required sales (transactions, clients served, widgets sold, etc) and further identify the number of qualified leads you will need to create in 2020.
This is the 2nd of 5 key steps of a robust business plan.
In the Abundant Agent Business Planning Workshop, we take you through 4 steps:
1. Vision
2. Profit
3. Leads
4. Spending
When it comes to vision for your work and business, start with your vision for your work, business, or organization.
Who do you serve? How do you want to impact your community: customers, employees, neighborhood, family? What value do you provide? Who benefits from your work? Why are you here (ie. calling, purpose)?
This is the start of a business plan. If you don't know why your business exists, planning for it is pointless.
It's time to write your business plan for 2020.
A few questions: Do you know how much profit you need to make in 2020? How much revenue will you need to hit that profit number? How will you generate the leads to make that gross revenue? What activities do you need to execute on daily? Your whole business plan may be longer, but you want to distill your business plan to just one 3x5 card that you can execute on daily.
Does your work inspire the world?
Every day we take our bodies to work. Are our minds and hearts there too?
The heroes of the faith teach us that the life of faith is daily, not based just on events or holidays. Likewise, faith is a part of every aspect of our lives. Do we bring our faith to our work?
Your daily rhythms and routines set the direction of your mind and your heart. And the Daily Compass serves to help you orient your life each day. You can get this tool today at: theabundantagent.com/compass
1000 miles isn't that far. 2500 Sales calls is easy. Read 36 books, piece of cake!
Taken at once, any of these accomplishments looks daunting. Taken one day at a time, EVERY DAY, these are easy. Walk just 3 miles, make 10 sales calls, and read 20 pages and you will conquer the seemingly insurmountable. On any given day, these activities seem microscopic and ineffectual. Taken together, every day over the course of a year, and you are a transformed person!
Humans don't progress in a linear fashion. We progress along a parabolic curve (hockey stick graph). In the first days and months, very little seems to be happening. Given enough time, you'll be walking farther, building amazing client relationships, and reading more interesting, richer books. You're growth will be imperceivable until it is unmistakable.

If you desire more success, do you look for big, fast-working solutions? Or do you find those few small, incremental changes that when added up over the course of years will transform and transport you into your imagined future?
The fact is, consistency beats intensity. Your life IS the result of thousands and millions of SMALL* decisions and actions. The Daily Compass is your tool to execute on these small, consistent actions that make big, intense abundance.

*Yes, I am aware that it's ironic to write the word SMALL in all-caps

The VERY FIRST thing you do each morning orients your day. That activity determines what your mind will be focused on. If you start your day with your news feed or social media feed, then someone else (or something else) dictates your orientation.
With an intentional morning routine, you decide where to orient yourself. Are you pointed to True North? When you are, every decision throughout the day relates to that initial course--either staying on course or diverting off of it. It is much easier to stay on the right course when you start on it than to find the right course when you've started on a different path.
For many, Faith is your True North. Your relationship with your creator is the foundation of every other value and choice in your life. And the first minutes of your day serve as your best opportunity to ground yourself in that faith.
What do you do each morning to orient yourself to True North?
